Meetings
Our
meetings are held at the Scout Centre, corner of Arthur St and St
Georges Square, East Launceston. At every meeting there are reviews of
recent, and previews of forthcoming club walks and other activities.
Every
second meeting is a "Photo Night" with less club business matters and
more of what we are really about....enjoying the wilderness. The club
has many keen photographers and others who have been walking for many
years, so the slides seen vary greatly and are sure to be interesting.
Guest speakers are occasionally invited to club meetings. Recent guests
have shown us snakes, frogs, taken us on photographic journeys through
stunning caves, and shown us the latest in bushwalking and ski gear. We
always have supper after the meeting. This is a good time to catch up
with friends, plan trips, swap photos and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea
and cakes.
Important information for prospective new members
It is suggested that prospective new members come along to one of our Wednesday night meetings before their first walk.
People
wishing to become new members must complete a suitable day trip with
the club as a visitor before they can apply for membership. For most
people a "suitable trip" means an easy too moderate day walk, or
alternatively a cycling trip. The Memberships Officer can point you in
the right direction for a suitable trip, introduce you to the
coordinators and advise you what equipment you will need. If
you can't make it to a meeting, please contact us via email or phone our message bank on (03) 9513 8282.
After
completing a suitable trip as a visitor, the trip coordinator and
another club member will sign the application form which can then be
sent to the club for processing of the new membership.
We meet every second Wednesday, 7.30pm at:
The Harry Abbott Scout Hall,
Cnr Arthur Street & St. Georges Square, East Launceston

Our trips meet at the Leigh Rodman car park off Thistle Street West, West Launceston as shown below. Please check trips calender for relevant times.

Reminder
Please remember to arrive 10 minutes early at the carpark before the trip departs, so the bus can leave on time.
